To wrap it all up

Well, I basically finished the guitar! I still had to do some leveling of frets. That part is not completely finished but the part of the fret board which I usually play on has the right action now and no rattles and such problems. On the part of the fret board which is above the body there is still an issue with some frets around fret 16. There some leveling is still needed. Maybe I tackle that sometime. For no I am going to enjoy the guitar. Below the end result pictures:

Re-Fretting

All the frets have been renewed on the guitar. First the old once had to come off. There are special tools on the market to do this job. But we used a simple pincer which has been flattened so it grips the frets flush to the fret board to minimize damage to the fret board.
One by one I carefully puled them out sadly not completely without little damage.
After that I cut the new frets to length by measuring them to the slots where they should come. I used a tenon saw to make the slots clean and deepen them a little bit. After that we glued the new frets in with Titebond wood glue. With a quick grip clamp I pressed them into the slots and when firmly in place I clamped them to let them dry for half an hour.
While this was drying I created the heel cap out of rosewood. partly it will sit under the overhang of the back so I had file a little recess into it.
I did not had the time to glue it onto the heel so I did that job at home. It looks very good!
Everything is now on the guitar. The only job left is adjusting the action and maybe leveling some of the frets since there are some rattles in some positions on the neck. But we're getting closer to the finish!
