I want to give a quick update on the guitar. The neck is glued to the body. I took a lot of small adjustments to aline the neck with the body so it stood perfectly straight in respect to the center line of the body. But when satisfied the glue was applied to the body and the heel of the neck as well as the part of the underside of the fret board that touches the top. Then the nuts where tightened to pull the neck firmly to the body. A single clamp was used to prevent the neck from pulling up.
Also I drilled the hole which will accommodate the jack for the pick-up which is also the strap button. I used the same method as with the holes for the tuners in the head-stock.
as you can see it is not right in the middle (since that is where the cross is) but just above it. It is better not to place it under the center of the guitar since that will impose a thread of the guitar flipping over when it is hanging to its strap.
Hallo Rik, ik vind het erg leuk je als volger op mijn blog te kunnen verwelkomen. Gisteren heb ik zo'n beetje jouw hele blog bekeken. Als ik het goed begrijp, heb je deze gitaar gemaakt in verband met een gitaarbouwcursus. Klopt dat? Als je gitaar helemaal klaar is (hoe staat het er nu mee?) ga je dan een tweede bouwen - misschien zelfstandig - of heb je nog geen plannen in die richting?

Dag Dick, bedankt voor je reactie! Ik ben altijd op zoek naar bouwblogs en websites om zoveel mogelijk van anderen te leren. Zo kwam ik ook langs jouw blog en ben die dus gaan volgen. Jij bent ook al bijna klaar zie ik. Ik bouw de gitaar inderdaad in een cursus van Outback Acoustics gehouden in een school in Bemmel. De gitaar is bijna klaar (ik kan er al op spelen maar ik moet nog wat afwerkpuntjes en afstellen). Echter bij het afstellen van de neck kwamen we erachter dat een behoorlijk aantal frets los zitten en we krijgen ze ook niet meer vast zonder ze te verwijderen. Waarschijnlijk gaan we de hele neck opnieuw fretten omdat ik al flink aan het vlakken geweest ben en daardoor veel frets straks te laag zullen zijn. Even een baal momentje maar goed dat hoort bij zelf bouwen! Dat gaat dus wel wat extra tijd kosten. Ik heb nog geen vast omlijnde plannen voor ene volgend project maar ik wil er zeker thuis mee doorgaan!
